Five Cowgirls Named First-Team Academic All-Big 12

DALLAS, Texas - Five members of the Oklahoma State Cowgirl soccer squad have been named to the 2001 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference office announced this week.
Junior Kat Doud, sophomore Joanne Edwards, sophomore Kim Graves, senior Myszka Paprocki and junior Jennifer Ward were all tabbed as first-team selections. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.2 or better grade-point average, while the second team are those who have a 3.0 to 3.19 GPA.
Doud, a native of Plano, Texas, went the distance in net for the Cowgirls this season, postng five shutouts and 97 saves in 19 games. She logged over 1,755 minutes in goal and recorded a 1.69 goals against average as well. Doud was also a first-team selection in 2000.
Edwards made 18 starts this season and was third on the team with 13 points. The Liverpool, England, native scored five goals and was credited with three assists on the year.
OSU's other sophomore representative, Kim Graves, tied for the team lead with eight goals despite missing two games. The Tulsa, Okla., native had a pair of game-winning goals to go along with three assists during the campaign.
Myszka Paprocki, the Cowgirls' lone senior, was named to the first team for the third consecutive year. The Ontario, Canada, native started all 19 games this season and scored two goals, including one game winner.
Junior Jennifer Ward, a native of Edmond, Okla., served as one of the squad's top reserves, playing in 14 contests and earning a start in the season finale against UALR.
