Cowboy Golf Prepares for Final Tournament of Fall Season

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team will close out the fall portion of its schedule this weekend at the 16-team Long Cove Collegiate Invitational being played at the Long Cove Golf Course in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
After a Thursday practice round, the Cowboys will play three 18-hole rounds beginning on Friday and concluding with Sunday's final round.
The third-ranked Cowboys are coming off a win at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate last month and will bring three players ranked in the top 25 into the event.
Sophomore Hunter Mahan, ranked No. 9, claimed individual medalist honors at the Jerry Pate and is currently the highest ranked Cowboy.
Senior Anders Hultman checks in at No. 10 and already has a pair of top-10 finishes on the season. The 2001 Big 12 Player of the Year earned his first career win at last year's Hilton Head torunament, firing three consecutive sub-70 rounds that included a final-round 63.
Sophomore Matt McQuillan enters the weekend ranked No. 22 after posting back-to-back top 10s.
P?r Nilsson will be looking to regain the form that led him to honorable mention All-America honors last season. The sophomore finished tied for 42nd at the Jerry Pate his last time out.
OSU will have a newcomer in the starting lineup with freshman Dayton Rose rounding out the rotation. The Midwest City, Okla, native, who was a two-time state champion at Carl Albert High School, will be competing for the first time in the Orange and Black.
