STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's No. 20 ranked women's cross country team will compete in the Midwest Regional in Carbondale, Ill. on Saturday.
The Cowgirls will be looking to improve on a seventh place finish from a year ago. Alexandra Lindquist is the top returning finisher. She finished sixth last year in Waterloo, Iowa and qualified as an individual to compete at nationals.
The Cowgirls are coming off of a runner-up finish in the Big 12 Championships. Siri Alfheim, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, was the individual runner-up and Marie Nilsson was named to the All-Big 12 team by finishing eighth.
The goal for everybody running is to finish first or second as a team so that they can compete for the national championship on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, S.C. on Nov. 19.
