Alfheim Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla. - Senior Siri Alfheim was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year following her runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championships last weekend.

Alfheim competed in four of OSU's five events this season, finishing in the top five each time.

Along with Alfheim, sophomore Marie Nilsson was also recognized as an All-Big 12 runner for finishing in the top nine at the conference meet. The duo led the Cowgirls to a runner-up finish in the Big 12 Championships last weekend in Norman, Okla.

The Cowgirls will head to the Midwest Regionals in Carbondale, Ill. on Nov. 10.
