STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad was unable to overcome a pair of early first-half goals on Friday night, losing 4-0 to Texas before 1,289 fans at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The Cowgirls (7-8-1 overall and 2-5-1 Big 12) fell victim to a pair of goals by UT's Kelly McDonald in the game's first 11 minutes. The Longhorns (10-3-0, 8-0-0) outshot OSU 9-4 in the half on their way to their 10th consecutive win.
McDonald put UT in front in the game's fourth minute on a double assist from Kati McBain and Kelly Wilson before striking again at the 10:58 mark on another feed from Wilson.
McBain put home a penalty kick at the 64:20 mark to extend the lead to three goals before Wilson closed out the scoring 36 seconds later to provide the game's final margin.
OSU was without the services of two of its top players, sophomore forward Kim Graves and freshman defender Marcela Nova, due to injuries and was outshot by a 26-5 margin in the contest.
The Cowgirls will conclude their Texas road trip with a 1 p.m. stop in College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.
