STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's track and field team is sending its
three top distance runners to compete in the 3,000m event at the Razorback Invitational this Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
Seniors Sara Wells and Araceli Davila, and Junior Alexandra Lindquist will travel to Arkansas this weekend to compete with many of the nation's top runners in the 3,000m.
Big 12 rivals Oklahoma and Kansas are just two of many schools who will participate.
The meet will be held in the Randal Tyson Track Center.
The women's 3,000m event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Wells, a cross country All-American, currently holds the fifth best time in the 3,000m in the Big 12 Conference.
At the Jan. 13 Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., Wells finished the 3,000m in 10:08.42.
Saturday's appearance will be a first for Lindquist this season.
The All-American in the 1999 distance medley relay had a successful cross country season and represented the Cowgirls at the national meet in November.
Following Saturday's appearance, the entire team has planned a trip to Lawrence, Kan., to participate in the Jawhawk Invitational on Feb. 2.
