STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad lost its Big 12 opener on Friday night, falling 2-0 to the Missouri Tigers at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Cowgirls dipped to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the Big 12. Missouri rose to 5-4 and 1-0 with the win.
The Tigers got on the board early, getting a fourth-minute goal from senior midfielder Amy Timmerman on a double assist from Steph Brennan and Jennifer McMaster.
OSU struggled offensively in the first half, mustering only two shots on Tiger netminder Megan Duncan.
In the second half, the Cowgirls generated several opportunities deep in the Tigers' end, including four consecutive corner kicks, but were turned away by the Missouri defense.
OSU remained within striking distance until late in the second half when Brennan tallied a score of her own off a cross from All-American Nikki Thole.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Overland Park, Kansas to battle the Kansas Jayhawks.
