Cowgirl Harriers Capture Another Meet Title

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Senior Sara Wells and the Oklahoma State Cowgirl cross country team are two-for-two so far this season.
Saturday morning, the Cowgirls tied with the University of Arkansas - Little Rock to gain another meet title at the SMU Cross Country Invitational in Dallas, Texas. Sara Wells won the meet's individual title and led the Cowgirls across the finish line. She finished the 5,000m race in 17:20.44. Last weekend, the Cowgirls dominated the UTEP Opener in El Paso Texas, and Wells also captured the first-place individual finish.
Senior Araceli Davila was the second Cowgirl cross the finish line. She finished in 18:16.37, good enough for a fourth-place finish. Freshman Marie Nilsson's 18:59.30 time gave her an 11th-place finish. Freshman Ami Butler finished 18th, with a time of 19:18.37. Freshman Sharalee Sparks clinched the win for OSU, finishing 22nd in 19:30.58
The Cowgirls' next appearance will be at the Sept. 30 Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. OSU will host the meet.
