The Week Ahead: Oklahoma State will conclude a four-game road trip this weekend when it travels to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Invitational.
About Ole Miss: On Friday, the Cowgirls will take on Mississippi at 4 p.m. in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Ole Miss (0-2) is coming off a California road trip that saw the Rebels suffer a 2-1 loss to San Diego State and a 1-0 setback to Pepperdine in double overtime. In her Ole Miss debut, sophomore Kristin Chapman scored the Rebels' lone goal of the season against SDSU. Last season, the Rebels posted a record of 14-9 and finished first in the SEC's West Division
About LSU: OSU will close out the road trip on Sunday at 2 p.m. with a match against Louisiana State. The Cowgirls defeated LSU 3-1 in the programs' only previous meeting last year in Stillwater. The Tigers (2-0) opened the season with a pair of road wins last weekend, defeating Troy State 4-0 on Friday and Louisiana-Monroe 4-2 on Sunday. The Tigers are led by sophomore Kara Dean, who recorded a hat trick (three goals) against ULM. Dean also scored two goals against Troy State. The 2-0 start marks the first time the Tigers have started the season with two wins. Last year, LSU finished the year at 4-15-1 and placed fourth in the SEC's West Division
Last Week: OSU enters the weekend with a record of 1-1 after splitting a pair of games in Edmond last week at the Oklahoma Shootout. The Cowgirls opened the regular season with a 1-0 win over Oral Roberts on Friday and dropped a 5-0 decision to Tulsa on Sunday.
Cowgirl Notes: Seniors Andi Lute and Mercy Morrical were named to the Oklahoma Shootout's all-tournament team ... Freshman Joanne Edwards scored OSU's first goal of the season and the first of her career against ORU, which proved to be the game winner ... Sophomore goalkeeper Katharine Doud went the distance in the net for the Cowgirls against ORU for her first career complete-game shutout ... Last year, Doud combined with fellow sophomore Laurel Catlett-King to post two shutouts.
