STILLWATER, Okla. The Oklahoma State soccer squad rode a three-goal performance by freshman Kim Graves to a 5-0 win over Arkansas-Little Rock Saturday night in front of 300 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls, who outshot the Trojans 33-8, got on the board early when freshman Joanne Edwards scored four minutes into the game. The Liverpool, England native put back a rebound off the crossbar to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Graves struck with her first goal as a Cowgirl off an assist from senior Mercy Morrical.
Sophomore Kellie Williams got into the act as well, scoring OSU's first goal of the second half to give the Cowgirls a 3-0 cushion.
Graves scored her second goal at the 77-minute mark to extend the Cowgirls lead. The Tulsa, Okla., native then converted a header off a cross from Williams to round out the scoring.
The contest was the Cowgirls lone exhibition contest of the season before they begin the regular season next weekend with contests against in-state rivals Oral Roberts and Tulsa.
