Men's Track And Field Changes Weekend Plans

STILLWATER, Okla. - Instead of heading west to California this weekend, Oklahoma State's men's track team will travel down to Arlington, Texas, for the UTA Open Track and Field Championships.
The meet begins Friday at Maverick Stadium with the hammer throw and pole vault. The 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter races are the only running events for the day. The meet continues Saturday, beginning with the pole vault at 9 a.m.
In addition to competing at the Penn Relays last weekend, some of the Cowboy squad traveled to Norman, Okla., to compete in the Sooner Outdoor Invitational last Saturday.
Ben Tickner recorded OSU's highest finish of the day by crossing the line in third in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:59.65. Ben Sigle finished the race in fifth in 4:02.24.
In the 5,000m race, Jon Cordes finished fifth in 15:30.97, and Gregory Rouault was sixth with a time of 15:58.51.
The Cowboys will round out the season by splitting the squad the weekend of May 12-14. Part of the team will go the Cardinal Qualifier in Palo Alto, Calif., while the other part will compete in Emporia, Kan.
On May 19-21, the Cowboys will head to the Big 12 Championships in Columbia, Mo., and finish the season at the NCAA Championships on May 31-June 3 in Durham, N.C.
