STILLWATER, Okla. - This weekend, the Oklahoma State women's track and field team will travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
The meet, which is hosted by the University of Texas, is in its 73rd year. It will be held at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field, which is located behind Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Cowgirl Junior Hanna Smedstad will be attempting to remain as the top collegiate runner in the nation in the 5,000m. Two weeks ago, at the Stanford Invitational, Smedstad's 16:14. 95 allowed her to lead the nation in the event. She hopes to improve her time, getting closer to the 15:55 time that will allow her to provisionally qualify for the Olympics.
Senior Sherita Jackson's 11.60 finish in last weekend's Southwestern Track and Field Invitational in the 100m allowed her to provisionally qualify for the Olympics in the 100m. She also looks to improve on her time.
The next Cowgirl appearance will be split between the April 14-15 Mt. SAC relays and the John Jacob Invitational.
