OSU Notes:
Oklahoma State renews an instate rivalry against Oral Roberts
Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at Drillers Stadium in Tulsa. The game will the first
of two against the Golden Eagles this season as ORU will come to Stillwater
on April 26. The contest will air on the Cowboy Baseball Radio Network
(93.7 KSPI) with Rex Holt (play-by-play) and former OSU player Ryan Folmar
(analyst) calling the action.
About Oral Roberts:
The Golden Eagles are 18-9 overall after getting swept by Minnesota
over the weekend. Oral Roberts took two of three from Baylor earlier in
the season and was ranked No. 29 last week by Collegiate Baseball
Leftfielder Eric Vandeventer leads the team with a .402 batting average and 43 hits. Rightfielder Ryan Neill is the Golden Eagles top power source with six homers and 24 RBIs.
Lefthander Jordan Gerk (3-4, 4.80 ERA) will get the start on the mound. He took the loss in his last start against Minnesota last Friday by a 5-2 count.
Oral Roberts head coach Sunny Golloway is in his fifth year as the pilot of the Golden Eagle program and has posted a 195-104 record during that span. Last season Golloway guided ORU to a school record 46-15 year and a NCAA regional appearance in Wichita, Kan.
The Series:
The Cowboys own a 28-22 series advantage over the Golden Eagles including
winning all three games last season. OSU eliminated ORU from the NCAA
tournament with a 12-4 win on May 29, 1999. The Cowboys have won the last
four meetings with Oral Roberts last win coming in the 1997 season by a 5-4
score.

On the Mound:
Righthander Frank Bludau will pitch today for the Pokes after
missing his scheduled start on Saturday against Cal-State Northridge due to
weather. Bludau had a 14.1 scoreless innings streak snapped against Texas
in his last start on Mar. 25.
