Cowboys Win Three Events At Woodman Classic

WICHITA, Kan.- Two members of Oklahoma State's men's track team won three events at the K.T. Woodman Classic here Saturday.
Chuck Sloan won the 1,500-meter run, while Junior Vasquez finished first in both the 3,000m run and the 3,000m steeplechase at the recently refurbished Cessna Stadium.
The Cowboys captured the top three spots in the 1,500m run as Derek Tate and Ben Tickner finished second and third, respectively, behind Sloan's 3:51.44. Tate completed the race with a time of 3:58.68, while Ticker finished in 4:00.66. OSU also took the top two finishes in the steeplechase. After Vasquez's 9:24.07, Ben Sigle finished second with a time of 9:32.20.
Also, Jerry Rainey finished fifth in 9:45.67, and Trey Vernon was sixth with a time of 9:46.02. Vasquez also took the crown in the 3,000m run with a time of 8:38.00. Vernon placed sixth in the race in 9:00.70.
In the 800m, Cam Katchuk placed fourth with a time of 1:54.44, while Ben Lake was eighth in 1:56.35. OSU's 4x400m relay team took seventh in 3:31.22.
The Cowboys will next head to the Bank of Fayetteville Invitational on Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
