White Helps Guide Orange Squad To Win In Spring Game

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Tailback Reggie White rushed for 160 yards and scored three touchdowns, and the Orange team did most of the scoring as Oklahoma State staged its Orange-White Scrimmage Friday night.
White wasn't the only offensive hero for the Orange squad. Quarterback Tony Lindsay completed 11-of-18 passes for 231 yards and tossed a 34-yard touchdown to Willie Young late in the first quarter.
For the night, the Orange team scored eight touchdowns and added two field goals and responded to scoreboard pressure. Leading 27-0 at the half, head coach Bob Simmons reversed the score, giving the White team a 27-0 scoreboard lead. The Orange squad responded by scoring four touchdowns and a field goal in the second half, the White team notched its only score with a fourth-quarter field goal by Chris Calcagni.
Lindsay ignited the scoring rally in the third quarter with two rushing touchdowns. The senior-to-be scored on a nine-yard run with 4:38 to play in the third and followed that with a 26-yard scamper with just 32 seconds left on the third quarter clock.
A 72-yard punt return by T.D. Bryant opened the scoring for the Orange squad in the fourth quarter. Following a field goal by Seth Condley, the Orange squad made the rally complete on a 24-yard run by Tim Burrough, who also added a two-point conversion run.
Aso Pogi started at quarterback for the White team and finished with 49 yards on six-of-21 passing.
On the defensive side, linebacker Dwayne Levels had an outstanding spring finale. Levels was credited with 10 tackles, including nine solo stops. The only interception of the game was turned in by strong safety Robbie Gillem, who also had four tackles.
Levels and his Orange squad teammates limited the White offense to minus 11 yards rushing.
