Cowboys Take Break From Conference Action

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State takes a break from conference play this weekend when the Cowboys host the Matadors of Cal-State Northridge. The teams open the three-game series Friday at 6 p.m. and will continue it on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The contests will air on the Cowboy Baseball Radio Network (93.7 KSPI) with Rex Holt (play-by-play) and former OSU player Ryan Folmar (analyst) calling the action.
About Cal-State Northridge:
The Matadors enter the weekend with a 12-19 ledger but has posted
some impressive wins including a sweep of nationally-ranked Long Beach
State. Northridge defeated the No. 12 (CB) ranked Dirtbags 6-4 on
Tuesday.
Shortstop J.T. Stotts leads the regulars with a .345 batting average and 38 hits. Outfielder Adrian Mendoza is the Trojans top power source with six homers and a .575 slugging percentage.
Northridge weekend rotation will be lefthander Andy Davidson (3-2, 6.12 ERA) on Friday and righthanders Kameron Loe (0-4, 5.82 ERA) on Saturday and Mike Frick (2-4, 5.84) on Sunday.
Cal-State Northridge head coach Mike Batesole is in his seventh year as the pilot of the Matador program and has posted a 168-86-1 record during that span. Last season Batesole guided CSN to a 27-29 record as an independent.

The Cowboys own a 3-1 series advantage over the Matadors including a 12-4
win in their last meeting during the 1997 season.
