STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State women's soccer added two more signees, Kristina Kiss and Joanne Edwards, to play for the Cowgirls in 2000.
Head coach Karen Hancock was pleased and excited to add the duo to play for OSU next season. "Both players will have a chance to make an immediate impact on our squad next season, and we are thrilled to have them."
Kiss is a 5-5 midfielder from Kanata, Ontario, Canada and is currently a member of the Canadian national team. She recently participated in the prestigious Algarve Cup where she earned a starting role at wide-midfield for Canada. Kiss assisted on goals in the team's 3-2 win over Denmark and 2-1 loss to Norway. She played for the South Nepean United Spirits club team in Ottawa that was the Canadian National Champions in 1998 and the third-place finisher in 1999.
"Kristina is perhaps the best technically sound and quick player that we have brought to play here," said Hancock.
Edwards is a 5-9 forward from Liverpool, England and has been on the Liverpool FC club team since 1998. She leads the team in scoring this season and was a member of the England Under 18 (U-18) national team in 1997-98. Edwards led her youth league in scoring with 60 goals in 40 games in 1997.
"Joanne provides us with some added offensive firepower and we are glad she has decided to come play for Oklahoma State," added Hancock.
The two players are in addition to Kim Graves (Tulsa Union HS) of Tulsa and Jeni Jackson (Broken Arrow HS) of Broken Arrow who signed in February.
