Softball Drops Two, End Run In Tournament

TAMPA, Fla. -- Oklahoma State's 17th-ranked softball team lost two games Saturday, ending the Cowgirls' run through the tournament here in the Speedline Invitational Tournament. The Cowgirls finished with a record of 4-3.
In Saturday's games, Oklahoma State gave up one run in the bottom of the seventh and freshman Karla Rivera picked up her first loss of the season with a 1-0 loss to Iowa State. In their only win of the day, the Cowgirls scored four runs, two in the seventh, and cruised to a 4-0 victory over Connecticut in the first round of bracket play.
In the late game Saturday night, OSU gave up one run in the seventh after taking a 1-0 lead, and gave up a solo home run to the opposing pitcher as the Cowgirls fell to Virginia Tech, 2-1, ending OSU's run through the tournament.
The Cowgirls (21-9) will host the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners on Tuesday, March 13, at Little Couch Park in Stillwater.
