OSU Wrestler Selected As Big 12 Player Of The Week

DALLAS - Oklahoma State junior Daniel Cormier was selected Big 12 Wrestler of the Week as announced by the Big 12 Conference office Tuesday.
Cormier ran his season record to 20-2 in the 184-pound division after knocking off fifth-ranked Charles McTorry of Nebraska last week. He was leading 19-7 before pinning McTorry at the 6:48 mark.
The Lafayette, La., native improved his season dual record to 7-1. Cormier make his first appearance in the lineup in mid-January and has risen to No. 5 nationally in the Amateur Wrestling News rankings.
His only losses are to top-ranked Cael Sanderson of Iowa State and Oregon's sixth-ranked Doug Lee.
Cormier is in his first year at Oklahoma State. He spent the past two seasons dominating the junior college ranks at Colby Community College (Colby, Kan.). Cormier recorded a 61-0 record and won two NJCAA National Championships at 197 pounds.
