No. 4 OSU Wrestling Travels To Top-Ranked Iowa

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's fourth-ranked wrestling team continues its treacherous schedule with a 7:30 p.m. matchup with top-ranked Iowa on Friday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
John Smith's Cowboys are 9-3-1 on the season and 1-1-1 in Big 12 action. The Hawkeyes are coached by Jim Zalesky and have posted a 13-0 overall record and are 4-0 in the Big 10.
Oklahoma State has won three straight against the Hawkeyes, including a 26-11 win last season in Stillwater. The Cowboys lead the all-time series 16-15-1. OSU also holds the edge in NCAA Championships with 30, while Iowa has won 19 of the past 26.
This is the Cowboys' first trip to Iowa City since 1998 when they slipped past the Hawkeyes 22-18.
Iowa boasts three wrestlers ranked No. 1 by Amateur Wrestling News at their respective weight classes in Eric Juergens (17-0) at 133, Doug Schwab (20-0) at 141 and T.J. Williams (16-0) at 157 pounds.
Jody Strittmatter, Iowa's 125-pounder, is also ranked second with a 16-1 record. Strittmatter will face OSU's Jeff Ragan who continues to climb the polls, moving into the No. 6 spot this week.
Oklahoma State's Mark Munoz, who fell to third at 197 pounds, will take on the Hawkeye's 10th-ranked Lee Weber. Munoz is 26-2 on the season after falling to Iowa State's Zach Thompson last Friday.
Friday's matchup will be carried on Stillwater's KSPI 93.7 FM, with J. Carl Guymon doing play-by-play. The match will also be webcast over the internet at www.collegewrestling.iptv.org at 9 p.m.
