Cowboys Defeat Indiana, 7-3

SAN DIEGO - Roy York's double with the bases loaded in the third inning broke open a 2-2 game as Oklahoma State went on to defeat Indiana 7-3 Saturday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
Indiana scored two runs in the second inning, the first off a triple by Jason Williams who also scored the second run off a wild pitch by Cowboy starter Frank Bludau.
The Cowboys stormed back for five runs in the top of the third to take a 5-2 lead. Jimbo McAuliff had a RBI bunt that scored Lance Smith from third base for the first run. Carl?s Gautreaux drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game and was followed by York's three RBI double.
OSU added a run in the seventh off a RBI double by Toby Rhodes and another run in the eighth off a sacrifice fly by Anthony Purkiss to give the Pokes a 7-2 lead.
Bludau picked up the win for the Pokes with five innings of three-hit ball. He gave up two runs while striking out six to move to 1-2 on the year.
Relievers Clint Salisbury and Rusty Rushing limited the Hoosiers to three hits in the final three innings of action to ensure the win.
Indiana scored a run in the bottom of the eighth but failed to convert with the bases loaded as Rushing struck out the side. He pitched the final two innings and struck out five to pick up his first save of the season.
York ended the day going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and third baseman Rob Watson also fared well with a 3-for-4 day with two runs scored.
Oklahoma State improved to 6-3 overall while Indiana fell to 2-2. The Cowboys will close out their four-game San Diego trip against the University of San Diego Sunday at 1 p.m. CST.
