Cowboys Compete At Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma State's men's track team competed at the Tyson Invitational here today.
The Cowboys' top finish of the day came in the 3,000-meter run. Jason Woolhouse came closer to reaching the provisional qualifying mark as he finished the race in fifth with a time of 8:19.00. A time of 8:12.00 is needed to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships in March.
Also in the 3,000m race, Junior Vasquez crossed the line in seventh in 8:31.95. Ben Ticker also competed in the race, and he finished 16th in 9:15.56.
Bruce Wright posted a season best of 14:49.39 in the 5,000m run to finish 10th. He finished the race in front of teammate Derek Tate, who placed 11th in 14:49.39. Trey Vernon completed the run in 15th with a time of 15:07.67.
Ben Sigle crossed the finish line in the mile in 10th with a time of 4:22.97, while Cam Katchuk and Jerry Rainey finished 20th in their respective events. Katchuk finished the 200m dash in 22.85, and Rainey crossed the line in the 800m run in 1:56.15.
OSU's distance medley relay team, which was an All-America team last year, finished the race in 10:32.02 to place sixth.
The Cowboys will next head to the Sooner Classic in Norman, Okla., on Feb. 19.
