STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's indoor track team will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend to compete in the Tyson Invitational to be held at the University of Arkansas' new Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center.
This weekend's meet will be the first competition in the new University of Arkansas facility. Arkansas will host the meet, which will feature many of the best track teams in the country, including Texas, LSU and Stanford.
"I'm hoping for some solid performances," said Coach Catrina Acosta. "This meet is going to be our first big meet. There will be some real competition this weekend."
The previous two Cowgirl appearances were in the western part of the country - Arizona and Nevada. Coach Acosta said she is excited to be running back in our part of the U.S.
"This meet at Arkansas is going to be especially good for the distance girls. They've been running against teams who are used to running in high-altitude areas. That doesn't help them too much," Acosta said.
After the meet in Fayetteville, the Cowgirls will begin to prepare for the Big 12 Indoor Championship.
