OSU-Arkansas Postgame Notes
December 09, 2000 | Cowboy Basketball
Dec. 9, 2000
The Cowboys improved to 14-0 under Eddie Sutton in neutral-site games played at the Mabee Center. [This note has been shown to be in error. OSU is 14-1 in the Mabee Center under Eddie Sutton and is 11-0 in the building in neutral-site games.]
OSU now leads the series with Arkansas 33-14, although tonight's game was the first between the regional rivals since Dec. 13, 1972.
Maurice Baker scored a career-high 25 points and has averaged 22.5 points in the past four games.
Andre Williams pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds and recorded the second double-double of his career. Just 33 games into his OSU career, Williams moved into 11th place in school history in career blocked shots with 44. He needs two more to move into the OSU top 10 in that category.
OSU shot a season-best 76.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Fredrik Jonzen scored a season-high 19 points one game after he tallied just eight at Wichita State.
Three nights after surrendering a double-digit lead in defeat (OSU led by 10 at the half against Wichita State), the Cowboys overcame a 12-point deficit to win this game.
Despite playing an Arkansas team that averaged a +12.3 turnover margin coming into the game, OSU committed a season-low 14 turnovers and had more takeaways (15) than giveaways for just the second time this season.
