OSU wrestlers ranked No. 1

STILLWATER, Okla. -- For the first time since the final poll of the 1998-99 season Oklahoma State's wrestling team is atop the college wrestling nation.
The National Wrestling Coaches Association released its first coaches' poll of the season today with the 2-0 Cowboys ranked first .
The Pokes are fresh off a 21-14 win over preseason No. 1 Iowa. The win vaulted the Cowboys to the top, jumping over the likes of Iowa, Minnesota and Iowa State. Iowa fell to No. 3, while Minnesota moved into the No. 2 spot and Iowa State comes in at No. 4.
OSU received 320 votes and nine of the 13 possible first-place votes with second-ranked Minnesota totaling 307 votes and three first-place nods. Iowa picked up 298 votes, dropping them to third, while Iowa State fell to fourth with 294 votes, including one first-place nod.
Illinois rounds out the top-five with a 1-0 record.
OSU's opponent Sunday -- Oklahoma -- is ranked sixth with a 1-0 record. The No. 1-ranked Cowboys and sixth-ranked Sooners are set to square off at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Llyod Noble Center.
