Oklahoma State - UNLV Post-Game Notes
December 02, 2000 | Cowboy Basketball
Dec. 2, 2000
- OSU and the Runnin' Rebels met for the fourth time in five years, and OSU has won all four meetings.
- Melvin Sanders' 10 rebounds are the most by a Cowboy this season.
- OSU played its first overtime game since a 67-66 loss at Kansas on Feb. 22, 1999. OSU is now 53-39 all-time, and 11-12 under Eddie Sutton, in OT contests. The Cowboys have won four of their past five overtime games dating back three seasons.
- Andre Williams' 13 points are one off his career high. His three blocked shots give him 42 for his career, moving him into 12th in school history though tonight's game was just his 31st as a Cowboy.
- For the second straight game, OSU held an opponent's star player to a subpar outing. UNLV's Kaspars Kambala entered the game averaging 21.6 points, but the Cowboys limited him to nine points -- just four in regulation -- on 4-of-12 shooting.
- UNLV's two-point lead late in regulation equaled the biggest deficit OSU has seen this season.
- Dunks: Baker 1, Jonzen 1, Keep 1, Sanders 1, A. Williams 1
- Charges Taken: Jonzen 1, A. Williams 1
