OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Guard Maurice Baker scored 17 of his game-high 24 points in the second half to lead Oklahoma State to a 73-59 victory over Northwestern (La.) State Saturday.
Baker was held to seven points in the first half, when the Cowboys (5-1) struggled to a 34-27 lead at intermission.
With Baker hitting six out of seven shots in the second half, OSU pulled away to lead by as much as 16 points.
Forward Andre Williams added a career-high 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Cowboys, and center Fredrik Jonzen had 13 points before fouling out with 4:33 left in the game.
Guard Michael Byars-Dawson scored 19 points and forward Chris Thompson had 12 for the Demons (2-2).
The game, played before 4,125 fans at the Myriad Convention Center, was the last of four neutral-court games played around Oklahoma while Oklahoma State's Gallagher-Iba Arena is renovated. OSU, which won each of those games, opens its newly refurbished arena Tuesday when it plays Arkansas-Little Rock.
