Cowboys and Hawkeyes renew storied rivalry

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's fourth-ranked wrestling team is set to square off with the top-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes in one of college wrestling's greatest rivalries at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Myriad in Oklahoma City.
John Smith's Cowboys are 1-0 on the season, while the Hawkeyes enter Saturday's match up with a 2-0 record.
OSU has nine wrestlers ranked in the latest Intermat poll with No. 2 Mark Mu?oz the highest ranked Cowboy.
Iowa has claimed six-straight national championships and nine of 10. Under Jim Zalesky, the Hawks have won three titles and amassed a dual record of 46-7.
The Hawkeyes sport eight ranked wrestlers, three of which, Eric Juergens (133), Doug Schwab (141) and T.J. Williams (157) are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes. All three have claimed national championships in their career.
The deadlocked rivalry dates back to the 1954 season with both teams winning 16 times to go along with one tie in 1955.
Iowa won last season's matchup 20-14 in front of 10,486 fans at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The previous year, OSU won a 26-11 route in Stillwater.
