Seven Cowboys Claim Titles At The Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic

TULSA, Okla. - Oklahoma State won seven of 10 titles at the second-annual Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic on Saturday afternoon in the Tulsa Convention Center.
Cowboy starters won titles at 133, 149, 157, 165, 174, 184 and 197 pounds.
All-American Mark Mu-oz was named outstanding wrestler of the tournament, pinning University of Central Oklahoma'sT.J. Tallent in 1:46 in the finals. He also won the most falls in least time award with three falls in 9:04.
Daniel Cormier and Pat Popolizio battled for the starting job at 184 pounds in today'sfinal with Cormier winning a 3-1 overtime decision.
At 133 pounds, third-year starter Charles Walker tightened his grip on the starting spot with a 3-0 decision over teammate John Thompson.
Two-time All-American Reggie Wright and Shane Roller continued to look impressive at 149 and 157 pounds, respectively. Wright major decisioned UCO'sGable Sullivan, 22-9, while Roller majored the Broncos Nathan Gomez, 11-1.
Ty Wilcox decisioned 174-pound starter Tyrone Lewis, 9-5, to win the 165 pound weight class, while Tony Gansen moved up to 174 pounds today and rolled to the title with a 6-2 decision of UCO's Quinton Bell.
The Pokes will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 25, in Norman for the Oklahoma Open.
