STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's 13th-ranked men's cross country team will travel to Ames, Iowa Monday for the NCAA Championships.
The women's race begins at 11:00 a.m. and the men's race follows at 12:15 p.m. on the Iowa State Cross Country course.
OSU earned an automatic NCAA berth by winning the District V meet last Saturday. The Cowboys were one of 18 teams to earn automatic bids.
Monday's meet will be the eighth straight NCAA appearance by the Cowboys. In the seven previous years, the Pokes have placed at least in the top-16.
"That is the equivalent of the basketball team making it to the Sweet Sixteen seven years in a row," said head coach Dick Weis of the tradition.
The Pokes hope to continue that NCAA tradition in Ames on Monday.
After the meet , the Cowboys will switch modes for the track and field season. Members of the cross country team also compete on the track team.
