Creighton Slips By Cowgirls 1-0

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer team dropped the opening game of a two-game homestand, losing 1-0 to Creighton, on Friday before 341 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
The loss dropped the Cowgirls to 3-10 overall. With the win, the Bluejays rose to 6-7 on the season.
Both squads battled to a standstill in the first half and ended the period in a scoreless tie. OSU had a pair of golden opportunities to get on the board in the last minute of the first stanza, but misfired on a pair of shots inside the Jays' box.
In the game's 54th minute, CU's Sara Hovland lofted a free kick in front of the OSU net and Erika Sauerwein finished it off to provide all the offense the Bluejays would need.
OSU generated several scoring chances throughout the second half, including eight corner kicks, but were turned away by a stubborn Creighton defense.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host the Baylor Bears at 1 p.m. in Stillwater.
