Cowgirls Defeat LSU to Close Out Road Trip

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - Oklahoma State's soccer squad wrapped up a four-game road trip with a 2-0 victory over Louisiana State on Sunday afternoon at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge.
With the win, OSU evened its record at 2-2 on the season. The loss was the Tigers' first of the year and dropped them to 3-1 overall.
Sophomore goalkeeper Katharine Doud led the way for the Cowgirls, notching six saves en route to her second shutout of the season and the third of her career.
The game remained scoreless until the 48th minute when a pair of Cowgirl newcomers teamed up to provide the game's first score. Kim Graves took a feed from Joanne Edwards and found the back of the net, giving the Tulsa native her first career goal.
Senior Andi Lute put the finishing touches on the scoring with 27:45 remaining in the contest, blasting a 35-foot shot past LSU goalkeeper Robyn Desmoreaux for her first goal of the season
Edwards, Lute, Jeni Jackson and Kelly McKay represented the Cowgirls on the all-tournament team. Edwards, a freshman from Liverpool, England, was voted as the event's Offensive MVP.
OSU will return to action this Friday when they host Alabama at 7 p.m. at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
