Cowgirls Drop Sooners in Overtime Thriller

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer squad ran its undefeated streak against in-state rival Oklahoma to five matches with a 2-1 victory in double overtime on Saturday night before 551 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
OSU rose to 4-14-1 overall and 1-8-1 in the Big 12. The Sooners fell to 9-8-1 and 4-5-1.
Oklahoma outshot the Cowgirls 20-10, but it was OSU who converted the game winner in the contest's 112th minute. Cowgirl freshman Joanne Edwards broke loose in the OU box and buried her fifth goal of the season to give OSU its first conference win of the season.
The Cowgirls got on the board first when senior midfielder Andi Lute blasted a shot past Sooner goalkeeper Jana Cunningham with 31:52 remaining in the half off a double assist from Mercy Morrical and Kim Graves .
OU equalized less than four minutes later when Jennifer Enos lofted a shot just out of the reach of OSU keeper Kat Doud.
Neither team threatened in the second stanza as both sides played the entire period without registering a shot on goal.
The two squads were unable to decided the outcome in the first 15 minutes of extra time as well. However, the Cowgirls intensified their offensive pressure in the second overtime, allowing Edwards' game-winning goal off Morrical's second assist of the match.
With the season-ending victory, OSU improved to 5-0 all-time against the Sooners.
