Cowgirls Blanked By Longhorns 2-0

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad surrendered a pair of second-half goals on Friday, losing 2-0 to the Texas Longhorns before 373 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
With the loss, OSU fell to 3-13-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the Big 12. The Longhorns rose to 12-4 and 7-1 with the win.
The two teams battled to a standstill in the first stanza, combining for only eight shots, before the Horns broke through in the game's 56th minute. Freshman Lauren Field put away a ball in front of the Cowgirl net to give Texas a 1-0 lead.
Despite only taking eight shots in the contest, the Cowgirls generated several scoring opportunities deep in the Longhorns' end, but were unable to convert against a stiff Longhorn defense.
In the 76th minute, Texas padded its lead when freshman Kati McBain took a feed from Abby Gutowski and blasted a shot past Cowgirl goalkeeper Kat Doud.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. when they host the Texas A&M Aggies at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
