Cowgirl Soccer Loses To No. 2 Nebraska, 6-1

LINCOLN, Neb. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer squad fell to the nation's second-ranked team, Nebraska, 6-1 on Friday night before 621 fans at the Abbott Sports Complex in Lincoln, Neb.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 3-12 overall and 0-6 in the Big 12.
The Cornhuskers, who rose to 15-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference, amassed an astounding 23 shots in the first period en route to four first-half goals. For the game, Nebraska finished with 43 shots and 17 shots on goal.
The Huskers got on the board early on Kelly Rheem's fourth goal of the season in the game's third minute. Nebraska then pushed the lead to 4-0 in a 10-minute span on goals from Breanna Boyd, Becky Preston and Kori Saunders.
Saunders tallied her second goal of the night with 65:09 expired in the contest on a double assist from Christy Harms and Brooke Jones.
OSU got on the board in the game's 72nd minute when senior Andi Lute found freshman Joanne Edwards for her fourth goal of the season.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Sunday when they take on the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames at 1 p.m.
