Cowgirls Prepare For Final Road Trip of Season

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Week Ahead: The Oklahoma State soccer squad will head north for its final road trip of the regular season. On Friday, the Cowgirls will travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. OSU will round out the road trip with a conference tilt against the Iowa State Cyclones on Sunday.
About Nebraska (14-0, 5-0): The Cornhuskers, ranked No. 2 in the nation, have been nothing short of impressive en route to posting a 14-0 record on the year. The Huskers have outscored their opponents 62-4 this season and are led by Christine Latham. The sophomore has tallied 33 points on 15 goals and 3 assists. In goal, Karina LeBlanc has logged the majority of minutes. In 14 games, the senior has surrendered four goals while accumulating 43 saves. Nebraska won last year's contest in Stillwater 10-0 and leads the all-time series 4-0.
About Iowa State (5-7-1, 1-4): The Cyclones are coming off a pair of losses last weekend against Texas A&M and Texas. ISU is led offensively by freshman Nicole Wilcox, who has recorded 13 points on four goals and five assists. Sophomore Katie Antongiovanni has chipped in with four goals and an assist. Elizabeth Chapman has seen the majority of time in net for the Cyclones, tallying 37 saves and allowing 17 goals in 13 games. The all-time series between the two clubs is knotted at two apiece. Iowa State won last year's battle 1-0 in Stillwater.
Last Week: The Cowgirls stepped out of conference on Friday to take on the Creighton Bluejays. Despite being outshot by the Cowgirls 12-8, the Jays netted a goal in the game's 54th minute to provide the only scoring of the contest. OSU hosted the Baylor Bears on Sunday afternoon at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. BU got on the board first before OSU's Kim Graves scored the equalizer to send the two teams into halftime tied 1-1. The Bears picked up a pair of second-half goals from Emily Fukuchi en route to a 3-1 victory.
Cowgirl Foot Notes:
-Oklahoma State freshman Kim Graves' goal on Sunday against Baylor was her third of the season, tying her for the team lead with fellow freshman Joanne Edwards
-Senior Andi Lute's assist on Sunday gives her 46 career points, moving her into sole possession atop the all-time OSU points chart Lute also recorded a shot on Sunday to move to the top of the OSU all-time shot chart with 117.
-Sophomore Katharine Doud continues to be impressive in goal for the Cowgirls. The Plano, Texas native currently ranks second in the Big 12 for all games in saves (80) and saves per game (5.71). Halfway through the conference slate, Doud ranks first in both categories as well with 39 saves in five games for an average of 7.80 stops per game.
-OSU's three seniors, Andi Lute, Julie Harris and Mercy Morrical,have combined to play in 41 games this season. The trio has combined to play in 206 games during the past four seasons
- Of the 29 goals the Cowgirls have surrendered, 20 have come in the second half.
