- OSU came within two points of its scoring record. Tonight's 125 points
rank second in school history to the 127 scored against Santa Fe on Dec. 3,
1977. The Colgate in a 111-47 victory Nov. 24, 1990, in Eddie Sutton's first
game as the Cowboys' coach.
- OSU, which entered the game ranked third in the country with 21.0
assists per game, recorded assists on its first 15 baskets and set a school
record with 36 helpers tonight. With 31 assists earlier this year against
San Diego State and 29 against Arkansas-Little Rock, the 1999-2000 Cowboys
have recorded three of the top five single-game assist totals in school
history.
- Brian Montonati set a career high with 28 points.
- Glendon Alexander set career highs with 25 points and seven
three-pointers. Alexander is 27-for-51 (52.9 percent) from three-point range
in the Cowboys' last seven games.
- Doug Gottlieb set a career scoring high with 18 points and recorded his
third career double-double by also tallying 11 assists. Gottlieb moved past
Jeff Timberlake of Boston U., Brevin Knight of Stanford and Tyrone Bogues of
Wake Forest into 20th place in Division I history in assists.
- Desmond Mason set a career high with 15 rebounds and recorded the 18th
double-double of his career, tying for fourth place in school history.
- Jason Keep had six points, giving him the best scoring night of his
young career.
- OSU opens its Big 12 Conference schedule Saturday when it hosts Texas Tech. The game, televised by the ESPN Regional network, will tip off at 12:45 p.m.
