Men's Track Finishes Fourth At Missouri Southern Invitational

JOPLIN, Mo. - Oklahoma State's men's track team took the top four spots in the 800-meter run at the Radio Shack Missouri Southern Invitational here today.
Senior Chuck Sloan snared his second first-place finish of the season as he won the 800m race with a time of 1:53.42. David Greenshields finished second in a time of 1:59.14. Ben Lake and Mike Cliff finished third and fourth with times of 2:00.19 and 2:00.89, respectively.
In the mile run, newcomer Jason Woolhouse finished second in 4:17.08. Junior Vasquez was fifth in 4:23.90, while Jon Cordes crossed the line in sixth with a time of 4:32.01.
Bruce Wright was second in the 5,000m with a time of 15:16.40. Trey Vernon finished behind him in third in 15:23.57.
Derek Tate earned a third-place finish in the 3,000m with a time of 8:48.09, and the OSU 4x400m relay team crossed the line in third in 3:29.46.
As a whole, the Cowboys finished fourth in the field of nine while competing in only five of the 15 events at the meet.
OSU will take a week off before heading back to Joplin for the Missouri Southern Invitational II on Feb. 5.
