Smith Brothers Meet Again

STILLWATER, Okla. - John and Lee Roy Smith will meet as head coaches for the 11th time Friday at 7 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Lee Roy will bring his 19th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils to Stillwater to face John's fourth-ranked Cowboys. OSU is 4-1-1 on the season following their 19-15 loss to Minnesota, ASU is 3-2.
John owns a 9-1 record against his older brother, his lone loss coming in their first meeting during the 1992-93 season. The Cowboys as a whole own a 29-4 series advantage and have won nine straight against the Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils are coming off an upset of No. 14 Cal State-Bakersfield, 22-18.
OSU will make a few lineup changes this week with Billy Gabel starting for Tony Gansen at 174 pounds. Gabel made his first appearance in the Cowboy lineup against Minnesota and its second-ranked 184-pounder Brandon Eggum.
Matt Holman is also a possible starter at 125 pounds for OSU.
Arizona State is lead by 165-pound All-American Steve Blackford, who is currently ranked third at his weight class. He is 24-1 on the season and owns two wins over OSU's 165-pounder Ty Wilcox. He defeated Wilcox 7-4 at the Las Vegas Invitational and 5-4 at the Reno Tournament of Champions. His lone loss was to defending national champion Kirk White of Boise State.
At 141 pounds, ASU features No. 18 David Douglas who will face OSU's third-ranked Jamill Kelly. Kelly decisioned Douglas 5-2 at Reno earlier this season.
ASU sports two other ranked wrestlers that will not be making the trip to Stillwater. Michael Kawamura at 125 pounds and Quinn Foster at 149 pounds will not wrestle due to injury.
