STILLWATER, Okla. -- OSU fans can show their support for the Cowboy football team this weekend as it travels to Lincoln, Neb., for a Big 12 showdown with perennial power Nebraska.
OSU Athletics is planning a sendoff for the team at the Stillwater airport Friday morning from 9:45 - 10:00 a.m. OSU fans are invited to wear orange, make noise and send the team on its way in style.
There will also be a "welcome party" at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Saturday morning before the game. Cowboy fans are encouraged to line up -- with orange attire, signs, banners and pennants -- from Stadium Road to Avery Road between 9 and 10 a.m. to help bring the team buses into the stadium.
Because of thick game-day traffic in Lincoln, the team's arrival at the stadium is difficult to predict, fans are encouraged to arrive early.
The Cowboys' Big 12 opener kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The game will be televised as the Big 12 Syndicated Game of the Week and can be seen locally on KWTV (channel 9) in Oklahoma City and KOTV (channel 6) in Tulsa.
