Cowgirls Fall To Texas 2-0

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's soccer team fell to the University of Texas, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in Austin.
Freshman forward Colleen Zea scored both goals for the Longhorns, the first coming with just under two minutes left in the first half off an assist by midfielder Melissa Rubey.
Zea would add another goal at the 80:53 mark to insure the Texas win. Goalkeeper Cami Varnadore posted her second shutout in as many games, saving four OSU shots.
Sophomore Julie Harris led the Cowgirls with three shots while Andrea Larsen had two attempts at goal. Freshman goalkeepers Laurel Catlett-King and Katharine Doud made nine saves while playing 45 minutes each and facing 21 Texas shots.
This was the second straight game that OSU was shut out, it lost 4-0 to No. 15 Texas A&M on Friday. The Cowgirls are now 0-2 overall and in Big 12 play. Texas improved to 2-0 overall and in conference.
Oklahoma State will be back in action Friday, Sept. 3, when the Cowgirls take on South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. at 7 p.m.
