Cowgirls Win Exhibition Soccer Opener Against Arkansas, 3-1

STILLWATER, Okla. - Junior forward Andrea Larsen netted two goals to lead Oklahoma State to a 3-1 victory over Arkansas in exhibition action Wednesday evening at the OSU Intramural Field.
The Lady Razorbacks actually took an early 1-0 lead when Michal-Lynn O'Kelley scored 5:54 into the contest off a feed from midfielder Liz Metcalf.
The Cowgirls stormed back less than two minutes later when Andrea Larsen scored her first goal of the evening at the 7:05 mark off an assist from junior Andi Lute.
The score remained knotted at 1-1 until the 78:30 minute mark in the second half when Larsen connected on a shot that flew past the Arkansas goalkeeper Jennifer Traw to give OSU a 2-1 advantage.
Senior forward Missy Moss added a goal at the 80:12 mark from a cross assist from Mercy Morrical to insure the Cowgirl victory.
This marked the third consecutive season Larsen has played a factor in the outcome of the Arkansas contest. As a freshman in 1997, she scored the game-winner in a 2-1 decision over the Lady Razorbacks and last year she assisted on the winning goal in another 2-1 win.
OSU will open its regular season Friday, Aug. 27 against Texas A&M at 7 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
