Oklahoma State Soccer to Play Arkansas in Exhibition Opener

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer team will open its 1999 season with an exhibition game against Arkansas at home Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
The game will be played at the OSU Intramural soccer field located adjacent to the OSU Soccer Complex because of maintenance work being done to the field.
Head coach Karen Hancock hopes to use Wednesday's contest as a way of measuring the team's talent level as well as getting it ready for competitive action. "We hope to use many of our players and evaluate them while also preparing for the season against a quality Arkansas team that is bigger and more physical than we are," said the fourth-year head coach.
Oklahoma State and Arkansas met in the regular season last year in Fayetteville, with the Cowgirls coming away with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory. Arkansas finished the 1998 season with a 6-11 ledger while OSU finished 7-8-3.
This will be the Cowgirls only exhibition game of the season as OSU will open its regular season in Big 12 action against Texas A&M on Friday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
