Three Cowgirl Track Athletes Bring Home Titles

FORT WORTH, Texas - Three Cowgirls brought home individual titles at the Southwestern Track and Field Invitational Meet in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday.
Megan Robbins won the pole vault with a jump of 10-11.5. Her mark was six inches higher than her closest competitor.
Taking her second consecutive title in the triple jump, Melinda Jackson's jump of 37-9.5 was good enough to edge past Kaneshia Polk of Texas Tech.
Sherita Jackson got back on the winning track for the Cowgirls by taking home top honors in the 200m dash and finishing third in the 100m dash. Her winning time in the 200m was 24.21 seconds.
The Cowgirls did manage to qualify one individual for nationals. Nancy Guillen's throw of 193-0 in the hammer once again surpassed her previous personal best and school record. Her throw would rank fifth in the country going into last weekend's competition.
The Cowgirls' Vanessa Wilhelm finished third in the javelin with a throw of 138-8. The Cowgirls 4x100m relay team finished fourth running 46.46 seconds, their best time of the season.
The Cowgirls will travel to Austin, Texas this week for the annual Texas Relay's. The meet is scheduled to start on Wednesday, March 31 and continue through Saturday, April 3. Cowgirl Results
