Cowboys Win Home Opener, Extend Streak to 54

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's top-ranked wrestling team won its 54th consecutive dual with a 31-6 win over Big 12 foe Nebraska Sunday afternoon in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Mark Mu-oz started the dual off with a sudden death win over Brad Vering of Nebraska. Mu-oz won on a locked hands and evened the series between the two talented sophomores at 2-2.
Dave Anderton pulled off a mild upset with a 5-0 win over J.R. Plienis. The Cowboys junior is ranked 12th and Plienis is ranked seventh for the Huskers.
Eric Guerrero continued his dominant run through his schedule with a 14-1 major decision win over Todd Beckerman. Reggie Wright had a fall for the Cowboys his third of the season.
Ty Wilcox had an exciting win as he had a four-point move late in the match to come from behind for the 7-5 win.
The Cowboys will next be in action Jan. 7 against Michigan State. A win for the Pokes would be the 800th in school history.
