Cowboys in Third Place at Big 12

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Freshmen Anders Hultman and Nick Seymour kept OSU in the hunt in today's second round of the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship.
Hultman is in fifth place individually at 2-over-par 142 after a 69 in the day's second round, and Seymour carded a career-best-tying 70 to lead the fifth-ranked Cowboys to a third-place position heading into Tuesday's final round.
OSU, the only team to have won the Big 12 championship in its two years of existence, is eight strokes behind 30th-ranked Kansas and six behind No. 15 Nebraska. The Cowboys recorded a team score of 18-over-par 578 in Monday's two rounds.
Seymour is tied with sixth-ranked Charles Howell and No. 13 Edward Loar with a 36-hole score of 146. Landry Mahan recorded a 152 and is in 37th place.
A pair of Kansas golfers, Chris Thompson and Ryan Vermeer, lead the individual competition at 1-under-par 139.
The championship concludes with an 18-hole round Tuesday. OSU, Kansas and Nebraska tee off at 8:50 a.m. CDT.
