Cowboys Extend Win Streak to 50

FRESNO, Calif. - Oklahoma State's top-ranked wrestling team finished off a successful day with a 38-3 win over Fresno State, Friday night in Fresno, Calif. With the win, the Pokes extended their dual winning streak to 50 and moved their season record to 5-0.
The Cowboys won 9-of-10 matches to cruise to the victory. Just like the Cal Poly dual earlier in the day, Mark Smith led off the dual with a fall. The top-ranked 174-pounder in the country is now 5-0.
Mark Mu-oz won his second match of the day with a 18-7 win over Michael Mellor. The Cowboy to fall in this dual was sophomore Josh Cruzan at 197. he lost a close 6-4 match against Demetrist Huff. Dave Anderton continued his topsy-turvy ways with a fall over Dave Wheeler. He has won or lost by fall in every match but one this season.
Jeff Ragan took full advantage of Teague Moore's absence in the lineup as he recorded a fall over Derrick Hayes. He won his earlier match in the day by major decision.
The highlight match of the night came at 133 pounds as top-ranked Eric Guerrero defeated second-ranked 125-pounder Stephan Abas 5-3. Jamill Kelly won his match over Paris Ruiz, 6-4.
Reggie Wright continued his hot start to the season with a 17-4 major decision win over Jonte Davis. Wright is now 5-0 on the season. Jimmy Arias and Ty Wilcox closed out the duals with 6-1 and 4-3 wins over Tim Cornish and Brian DeCarli respectively.
The Pokes return to action Sunday at the Reno Duals. They will take on Boise State at noon CST. The semifinals will be at 4 p.m. and the finals are slated for 8 p.m.
