Wrestling Moves into Third Place at NCAAs

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Oklahoma State moved back into third place at the NCAA Championships heading into the finals.
Iowa and Minnesota are in a dogfight for the team title. Minnesota lead by two points heading into the finals 94.5-92.5. The Cowboys are third with 80 points, Iowa State is fourth with 75.5 and Penn State is fifth with 74.5.
Teague Moore ended his illustrious career with 113 wins and a third-place finish. He and Mark Smith become the 51st and 52nd three-time All-Americans in OSU history. He defeated Shane Valdez of Oklahoma, 2-0. Moore won that series between the long-time rivals, 8-6. His 112 wins rank 12th in school history.
Reggie Wright finished his first season as a Cowboy with a fourth-place finish. He lost both of his matches in the tournament to Adam Tirapelle of Illinois, including a 5-3 decision in the third-place match. He will be the Cowboys only returning All-American next season.
Mark Smith finished in fifth place. He won his fifth-place match over Leo Giel of Rider, 6-3. He is a three-time All-American.
Eric Guerrero will go for his third straight title tonight when he faces Cody Sanderson of Iowa State.
