Women's Track to Take Part in Prestigious Penn Relays

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's track will venture to the largest track meet in the world, Thursday through Saturday, as they compete in the 105th running of the Penn Relays.
On Thursday, Alexandra Lindquist and Hanna Smedstad will both compete in the 3,000-meter run. It will be their first time to run the 3,000m this outdoor season. Smedstad was a national qualifier in the 3,000m during the indoor season. The event starts at 6 p.m.
Smedstad will also run the 5,000m, which is scheduled to start at 6:20 p.m. Thursday. She provisionally qualified for the 5,000m at Mt. SAC last weekend with a time of 16:20.13.
The Cowgirls will run a 4x100m, 4x400m, distance medley and sprint medley relay teams. This will be the first time for the DMR and SMR teams to run during the outdoor season.
Sherita Jackson will also compete in the 100m dash. Preliminaries are set to run at 1:30 p.m. Friday, while finals will go Saturday at 2:50 p.m.
The remainder of the of the OSU squad will travel to Norman, Okla., for the Sooner Outdoor Invitational on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with field events, while running events will start at 12:30 p.m.
