Women's Track and Field Posts Strong Weekend Results

Stillwater, Okla - The Oklahoma State Cowgirls track and field team split up three different ways this weekend with impressive results.
Four Cowgirls ventured to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Cannon IV Classic. The Distance Medley Relay team consisting of Natasha Santee, Hanna Smedstad, Alexandra Lindquist and Andrene Thompson competed for the first time this season, finishing third and qualifying provisionally for nationals in a time of 11:25.68.
In the 3,000m Smedstad finished fourth and improved on her best time this season finishing in 9:28.53.
The Cowgirls also competed in the Frank Sevigne Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. Headlining that group was freshman Andrea Holloway who finished third with a throw of 50-0.5 in the shot put. Her throw not only qualified her for nationals but once again broke her Cowgirl own record.
Senior Sherita Jackson finished second in the 200m. Her time of 24.36 was her best this season.
The remaining Cowgirls competed in the Oklahoma Christian Invitational. Result were still unviable.
The Cowgirls will take next week off as they prepare for the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Manhattan, Kan. on March 19-20.
